On some android devices (Huawei, Xiaomi, etc.), the Android OS stops Focusmeter when it is running in the background. Since Focusmeter is stopped, it is not able to send notification alerts when the timer is up. Please visit https://dontkillmyapp.com/ for more details.
A possible solution would be to exclude Focusmeter from your phone’s battery optimization list. By excluding Focusmeter from battery optimization, it may prevent Focusmeter from being stopped in the background. In Focusmeter, please go to Settings > Ignore Battery Optimization for instructions on how to do this.
This problem is not easy to fix and we are exploring different methods to ensure that timers are not missed. We seek your understanding and patience.
Both count-down and count-up (stopwatch) timers are supported. To change a timer to count-up/stopwatch mode, go to Settings > Manage Timer Modes > Current Mode
Then, select Count up below the timer. For more information please visit this link.
By default, you can only set timer duration up to 120 minutes (2 hours) in the Timer screen.
You can customize the maximum timer duration up to 600 minutes (10 hours). To do so, please go to Settings > Timer control > Maximum Focus timer length
On the Timer screen, you can view your statistics for the current day by clicking on the progress display. To view statistics for the Week or Month, go to the Calendar.
When the timer has reached the end of it’s duration, it will alert you.
However, sometimes, this alert may be missed if you are too focused or almost done with your task. The Completed Reminders will alert you periodically every 1 minute* to remind you that the timer has completed. You can enable Completed Reminders for both Focus and Rest timers.
Please note that Completed Reminders are NOT the same as the Timer Completed alerts.
*You can customize this in Settings.
To export your data, please go to Settings > Data Backup.
There are two options for the export format: CSV or the JSON file format.
The CSV format can be opened in spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
The JSON format can be used to restore your data if you re-install Focusmeter or change phones.
